We are committed to protecting your personal data when you visit our website.This Privacy Notice explains how we at Manorbier Bed and Breakfast use any personal information we collect about you.
From 25th May 2018 we will be expected to follow a new General Data Protection Regulation. 


(1) What information do we collect?

We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal data:

(a) information about your computer and about your visits to and use of this website (including your IP address, geographical location, browser type, referral source, length of visit and number of page views);

(b) information relating to any transactions carried out between you and us on or in relation to this website, including information relating to any purchases you make of our goods or services;

(c) information that you provide to us for the purpose of registering with us;

(d) information that you provide to us for the purpose of subscribing to our website services, email notifications and/or newsletters;

(e) any other information that you choose to send to us.

Enquiries for availability 

If we have no availability for the dates requested then I will respond by email or telephone and then the telephone number and /or email will not be added to any list or records kept within any files/database.

When you make a booking with me I collect the names of all the guests who will be staying, the Home address, email address and telephone number of the person making the booking.


 We use Stripe Payment system to take payment for one night’s deposit which is stored encrypted via Stripe Payment system in association with my channel manager/ booking manager Free To Book to be able to take the balance for your stay or if it is within the time period of my cancellation period stated in the policy. How we use the information we hold on you

We use your home address as part of the card payment processing to validate the card.


We will use your email address to send you confirmation of the booking or a letter enclosing your confirmed booking if you do not use the internet and an email/letter with more details on how to find Manorbier Bed and Breakfast and other information you may find useful for your stay.

After your stay you will receive an automatic email from our booking system asking you to fill in a feedback form. We also send you an additional email checking everything was ok with your stay and offering you ways to stay in contact with Manorbier Bed and Breakfast by social media or email if you choose to subscribe to my email newsletter.  

We will only your telephone number to contact you to establish a time of arrival or an emergency, and/or we have been unable to contact you by email.

How is your data stored

All of the personal and debit/credit card data you supply us, as part of the booking process, is stored securely on a third party system, Freetobook.  We store all booking forms in a locked filing cabinet and keep the information in accordance with the HRC

Neither Stripe, Freetobook or we will share your information with any third party unless there is a legal reason for doing so.


 We do not add any guest to the newsletter list unless they have agreed to be added to my subscriber’s list.  The newsletter is managed by MailChimp and anyone can unsubscribe from a newsletter or list at any time.  The once a year newsletter I send normally contains information about the B&B, any low season special offers or local events of interest. one a month )  to people on my distribution list. Guest Registration

We are required by law to collect the following information on all of our guests and add it to the Free To Book booking form at the beginning of your stay as we do not use registration forms on arrival.

For Commonwealth, EU guests;  Name and nationality

For Non-commonwealth, and guests living outside the EU; Name, nationality, passport number.

Manorbier Bed and Breakfast is advertised in Sawdays Special Places to Stay Guides,

Great Little Places to Stay Guides and Walking Companies and Guides.  All of these organisations have their own privacy policy’s to comply with the new General Data Protection Regulations.

We will keep these booking forms safely in a locked filing cabinet This information will be retained in line with requirements for financial records for 7 years.
(2) Cookies

A cookie consists of information sent by a web server to a web browser and stored by the browser. The information is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. This enables the web server to identify and track the web browser.

We may use both “session” cookies and “persistent” cookies on the website.  We will use the session cookies to: keep track of you whilst you navigate the website.  We will use the persistent cookies to: enable our website to recognise you when you visit.

Session cookies will be deleted from your computer when you close your browser.  Persistent cookies will remain stored on your computer until deleted, or until they reach a specified expiry date.

We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of this website.  Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies, which are stored on users’ computers.  The information generated relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of the website.
